These answers define what PING88 can and cannot establish. Dynamic results come from live measurements; missing data is never replaced with invented values.
What can an IP lookup tell me?
A public IP can usually identify a country or region, network operator and ASN. City is a database estimate, not GPS, a home address or the device’s live location.
Why can the IP city differ from my real location?
An IP may be registered at a carrier office, mobile gateway or cloud facility. Proxies, VPNs and carrier-shared exits also move the visible location, so country and ASN are usually more reliable than city.
What does “possible proxy” mean?
It means a source identified hosting, VPN, public-proxy, Tor or another risk signal. Multiple explicit signals raise the level; “no evidence found” still does not prove that a connection is direct.
How should I read Ping, download and upload?
Ping is round-trip delay and packet loss means probes did not return. Download and upload are measured browser throughput to the selected test node. Results change with node, route and time.
What does the device security check cover?
PING88 checks internet-reachable TCP ports, service fingerprints, TLS and known-vulnerability signals. Without installation it cannot read local files, antivirus state or devices hidden behind NAT.
